What is the recovery for Sculptra buttock enhancement?
Most patients have mild soreness and swelling for 2-3 days. We do ask that you minimize sitting for around 1 week if possible. You will also need to wear a lightly compressive spandex or Spanks garment for 1-2 weeks. Dr. Flugstad has found that these recovery methods give the best results for Sculptra Buttock Enhancement.
Does Sculptra have any risks or side effects?
The most common side effects are swelling and bruising at the injection site, which is to be expected with virtually any injectable. Other temporary and typically short-lived, common side effects may include pain, tenderness, redness, itching, bleeding, or bumps/nodules.
A nodule is a growth of abnormal tissue. Unlike the more common, temporary side effects, it has appeared in only 7% to 9% of patients, but it is a function of too shallow an injection, rather than any rejection of or allergic reaction to the Sculptra. This tells you that nodules are the result of less-skilled administration of the procedure.
What results can I expect from treatment?
Because the action of Sculptra is to stimulate the body’s own collagen production, results will not be seen immediately after the procedure, as with other types of injectables. On average it takes approximately 12 to 24 weeks after the last treatment to reach the most noticeable increase in volume at the treatment site. Optimal results typically last for approximately 2-5 years, with a gradual decline in volume and fullness over the following years.
